If this were a democratic blog, the name of the award would be simple: The Rothwell Award For Short Fiction . But, barring an invading force wrestling me from my Post Of Power, I get to decide, and I just don't think that's ostentatious enough.

The name of the award is the

Turner Calefaciens Rothwell Award
for Literary Excellence.

Turner--> because I'm still trying to get this guy¹  to pimp for me and I like the name because it sounds pompous without being hard to pronounce. I'd name it Crusie but have given up entirely on the woman.

Calefaciens --> in honor of the socks (according to D. Mahan, Calefaciens means "to make warm.") So much for the easy to pronounce criterion.

Okay, enough about the name, Enter the dang contest here. Write a very short (55 words at most) piece of fiction or an essay.  Win socks, win Honor for Your Name, win a book -- or just head over to read some good warm stuff.
